Code of Conduct & Sportsmanship Guidelines
Munfordville Sports is committed to providing a safe, positive, respectful, and fun environment where players can learn and enjoy soccer. These expectations apply to all players, coaches, parents/guardians, spectators, referees, volunteers, and league representatives.
1. Core Expectations
• Treat everyone with respect and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
• No bullying, harassment, discrimination, threats, fighting, abusive language, or intimidating behavior.
• Keep all league activities family-friendly and follow league and facility rules.
2. Player Code of Conduct
• Play fairly, safely, and respectfully.
• Listen to coaches and respect teammates, opponents, and referees.
• No fighting, bullying, taunting, insulting language, or intentionally dangerous play.
• Encourage teammates and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
3. Coach Code of Conduct
• Put player safety, development, participation, and enjoyment ahead of winning.
• Be a positive example and provide age-appropriate instruction.
• Never ridicule or embarrass players.
• Respect referees and help maintain appropriate sideline behavior.
• Follow league rules, schedules, rosters, and safety policies.
4. Parent, Guardian & Spectator Conduct
• Encourage players and allow coaches to coach and referees to referee.
• Use positive language and do not criticize or yell conflicting instructions at players.
• Never argue with, threaten, insult, or aggressively approach referees, coaches, players, or other spectators.
• Address concerns respectfully with coaches or league leadership at an appropriate time.
5. Referee Respect & Zero-Tolerance
• Referee decisions must be respected.
• Abuse, harassment, threats, intimidation, or aggressive confrontation toward referees will not be tolerated.
• Parents and spectators should not enter the field or referee area to dispute calls.
• Serious referee abuse may result in immediate removal and league discipline.
6. Sideline & Field Conduct
• Remain in designated spectator/team areas and keep sidelines clear.
• Do not enter the field during play unless permitted for an injury or emergency.
• Supervise children who are not participating.
• Respect league facilities, fields, and equipment.
7. Safety & Player Welfare
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, injuries, or concerning behavior.
• Players must wear required safety equipment.
• Players should not continue participating when an injury or safety concern makes it unsafe.
8. Concerns & Communication
• Handle concerns calmly and respectfully, preferably after emotions have settled.
• Begin with the coach for team concerns and contact league leadership for safety, conduct, league-wide, or unresolved issues.
• Personal attacks or retaliation for raising a good-faith concern are not acceptable.
9. Violations & Discipline
• Violations may result in a verbal or written warning, removal from a game/practice, suspension, or removal from league activities.
• Serious behavior may result in immediate removal without a prior warning.
• League leadership will determine appropriate action based on safety, sportsmanship, and the best interests of the youth program.
